DC 102E Introduction to International Style Ballroom Dance and Latin

International Style dance classes are for people who are interested in learning a wide range of dances and a repertoire of footwork. This class touches on the ten international style dances which are grouped into standard and latin. The standard dances are: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese waltz. The Latin dances are: Rumba, Cha cha, Samba, Paso doble, and Jive. Dan Calloway is a professional ballroom dancer with years of experience teaching people of all ages and levels. His students dance socially and many also train and compete in dancesport competitions, but no one is required to compete. His classes allow people to learn dance in a quick, efficient manner, while maintaining a fun learning environment. No partner required. Please wear leather dress shoes to class (no sandals, slides, heavy lug-soled shoes or sport shoes). Heels are preferred for women. Wear comfortable clothing so that you can move freely. Five nights of classes will be held in the Colony Ballroom-dates will be announced the first night of class. No prerequisite.**CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN THE COLONY OR GRAND BALLROOM LOCATIONS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO REGISTERED STUDENTS***
