HC 201A Darkroom Workshop

This workshop will meet once for three weeks and will cover the basics of Black and White film processing and printing. By the end of the workshop, students will know how to develop and enlarge photographs from a roll of black and white film. Contrast, burning and dodging, and proper darkroom care and safety will be emphasized Students must provide their own 35mm camera (SLR preferred), and know how to operate it. Students are responsible for purchasing their own film and photo paper. Handouts for use of the darkroom will be distributed throughout the 3 class meetings. IMPORTANT NOTE: Students should shoot one roll of Kodak TMax ISO 400 Black and White film and bring it to the first class to learn to develop it. This is the only film that may be used in this workshop, it is available at most photo supply stores. Students should also bring negative sleeves or a large envelope to store their negatives. ***THIS WORKSHOP DOES NOT INCLUDE OPEN STUDIO TIME. STUDENTS MUST PURCHASE OPEN STUDIO SEPERATELY!!!
